Ok, some people got back to me. Materials, census and climatographic research continue. Slog, slog. more to do, fer sher. I had a scare when I found out about this place.

Why didn't I search out the term "geodesic" earlier. It works as a "proof-of-concept" but a lot of the constraints are different. They say that they have 5 happy owners in Alaska. I will try to contact them.

The Project
It is my belief that only a truly ignorant person can change anything.
I have undertaken a project (of my own choosing) for my senior design project at the Emily Carr Institute, and I know that I know very little. I post this in hopes that I may be enlightened by those of you who do know.
The goal of my project is to help plants to grow in the arctic. I hope to bring this about by designing a building component that assists in creating a growing space . (the scope of this project is not so nailed down right now, so I am consciously being vague)
I know little about the arctic and its different situations. I would like to know more about the quality of life, what it has and doesn't have, where it surpasses life down in the south, and what things are difficult or lacking.
I solicit opinions and hope for discussion.

Ok, so I made (making) a blog
OK, so i am now blogging. Why? and why now? I do snicker still when people use 'blog as a verb, but whatevs...
I want to talk to other people who blog and out of a sense of reciprocation I feel that they should be able to blog back at me.
Why now, well... i have undertaken a project where I am WAY out of my areas of experience. why, because I am foolish and ignorant. I know this and do not wish to pretend otherwise. I need to get "out there" on the inter-web and talk to people who know about these areas. This seems to be one of the avenues to do that.
OK so here goes.
