Hi Carl,
I just wanted to clariy on a question. Where it asks if people in your community garden- there are only two southerners here (have been in the community a long time though) who each have a greenhouse that they grow a bit of vegetables. I don't know of Inuit in town who grow any of their own vegetables.

Stumbled onto your survey though another blog ... and I filled out the surveys for you.
I know up here there isn't anyone (at least that I know of or have heard) doing any gardening. I'm planning to get some small greenhouses and supplies shipped up to me as I need my veggies :-) .. although I'm not too sure how well they will do during the dark season... I guess I'll see when the time comes.

In regards to your question:
In the survey #1, Is it question #4 "Does anyone you know grow locally?" or question # 6 "Is there a community garden or greenhouse in your town?"
question four was meant to see if gardening is a complete oddity.
question six was meant to see if there are shared facilities.
I realize that there may be a huge cultural difference between the Inuit community and those people from a different background. I plan to inquire through the territorial government and through any NGOs that I can reach about this specific question, but I have not found many Inuit to ask in the blogging community. It is quite valuable information to me and thank you for it.

Hey Carl, I live in Igloolik and grow plants hydroponically year round. I've got tomatoes lettuce, and basil on the go right now. And have experience growing lots of other plants. I grow inside and outside. Let me know if you need advice or help. www.foxfirephoto.com

Thank you all for filling out my surveys. I will leave the surveys active, but have used the data as of this point to do my research. If the results from here prove very different I will need to revisit my conclusions.
